چکیده

Ž . The excited state dynamics of a water-soluble polymeric dye poly S-119 was investigated using femtosecond time-reŽ . solved fluorescence upconversion. Multi-exponential relaxation of fluorescence was observed for poly S-119 in picosecond and sub-picosecond time ranges. The azo-chromophore of the functionalized polymeric dye Sunset Yellow was used as a model compound for detailed investigations of intermolecular interactions. Excited state decay of this azo-dye can be described by a two-exponential decay law with time-constants of ;0.48 ps and 1 ps. Fluorescence anisotropy decay was investigated for both systems. The difference in excited state dynamics between the polymeric dye and the azo-chromophore is explained in terms of inter-molecular interactions resulting in intra-chain aggregate formation. q 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. An insight to optical studies of acridine orange cationic dye within nanometer-sized microemulsions at fixed water content

Cationic dye Acridine orange (AO) has wide applications especially in biologicalfields such as analysis of lysosomal and mitochondria content by flow cytometryand so on. In the current work, spectroscopy of acridine orange (AO) dye at bothlow concentrations (mdye/mwater=6.25×10-5, 3.12×10-5) and high concentrations(mdye/mwater=0.002, 0.001) was studied in confined water ...

Molecular Dynamics Simulations on Polymeric Nanocomposite Membranes Designed to Deliver Pipobromane Anticancer Drug

Three chitosan (CS), polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polylactic acid (PLA) nanocomposite systems containing SiO2 nanoparticles and water molecules were designed by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to deliver pipobromane (PIP) anticancer drug in order to discover the most appropriate drug delivery system (DDS) in aqueous medium which was analogous to the human body. The density for the CS matri...

Exploring the Interaction Mechanism of Coumarin with Bovine β-Casein: Spectrofluorometric and Molecular Modeling Studies

This paper is designed to examine the binding behavior of Coumarin with bovine -casein (βCN) through fluorescence spectroscopy and molecular modeling techniques. The data analysis on fluorescence titration experiments at various temperatures represents the enthalpy driven nature for the formation of Coumarin–βCN complex and the prevailed role of hydrogen bonds and van der Waals interactions in...

Direct observation of single flexible polymers using single stranded DNA().

Over the last 15 years, double stranded DNA (dsDNA) has been used as a model polymeric system for nearly all single polymer dynamics studies. However, dsDNA is a semiflexible polymer with markedly different molecular properties compared to flexible chains, including synthetic organic polymers. In this work, we report a new system for single polymer studies of flexible chains based on single str...

A molecular probe for the optical detection of biogenic amines.

A coumarin derivative was employed for the detection of biogenic amines in buffered aqueous solution by UV-Vis or fluorescence spectroscopy. Incorporated in a polymeric matrix, the dye can also be used for the optical detection of gaseous amines.
